Morning, 9-12, Mixed Media Animal Art with Yasamin Holland
Who doesn’t love animal art? From cardboard to duct tape, goats to flamingoes, artists in this camp will create art big and small inspired by their favorite animals from different environments including Maine, the desert, and the sky, to name a few. Mark your calendar for an art show at the end of the week to celebrate new skills, an exciting animal art portfolio, and a week of joyful art making.

Afternoon, 1-4, Collage with Bridget McAlonan
In this workshop we will focus on different collage techniques to create images and stories. Artists will paint, tear, print, snip, glue and perhaps even sew paper and other found materials in pieces. In order to foster a love of the art, we will focus on the process of making and crafting. I hope we get lost in the process of collaging and making.

Morning, 9-12, I Love Maps! With Jill Osgood
This class will introduce students to mapping basics, including finding the cardinal points with a compass, designing a compass rose, and mapping, drawing, and painting a variety of fun maps. Students will go on expeditions around the campus and map what they find. The week will finish with students looking at and learning about fantasy maps and creating a fantasy map of their own.

Morning, 9-12, EXQUISITE CORPSE with Danae Lagoy
Artists in this camp will use linocut printmaking that incorporates the popular Surrealist game, The Exquisite Corpse. We will draw, carve and print the blocks together in infinite variations to reveal the many exquisite corpses. Artists will learn printing, carving and safety techniques, while learning about surrealism and this very wild drawing game. We will end the week with an art show.

Afternoon, 1-4, Let's Make a Zine! With Jill Osgood
What's a ZINE? Short for magazine or fanzine, a zine is a handmade mini book that can be copied and shared with family and friends. Students will play with paper, learning how to make a multitude of simple mini book forms focusing on self expression, storytelling, illustration, and creativity. The camp will conclude with participants designing, writing, and illustrating a photocopied zine to share with everyone!
